The Enemy of my Nemi is my Friend

Here’s the deal. Every day that I take the the train, I pick up a free morning newspaper. Of course, I use the term “newspaper” as loosely as possible because, for all intents and purposes, it is actually a shit-rag. Yes. A rag used to clean, gather or otherwise move excrement from animals’ rear behinds. And it can’t even do that very well!

After scowering the pages in vehement anger over the sheer LACK of interesting news, and subsequently ignoring the opinion pages because now everybody in the goddam world gets to “have their voice heard” only for everyone else to find out that they are complete and utter borons (that’s “boring morons” for those of you unaccustomed to on-the-spot neologisms), I finally reach the funny pages.

Let me tell you something funny about these funny pages. I have yet to laugh at them. And I shall tell you why. ‘Nemi’ by Norweigian stereotype Lise Myhre is an incredibly dull, utterly pointless comic. It isn’t funny. It doesn’t even try to be funny. It’s a simply boring segment of somebody’s entirely pointless day (and/or life). There are no punchlines, not even a pithy comment! No sight gags, puns, or anything else besides. Could it be that something is lost in translation from the original Norweigian? Or are Norweigians just dull, boring people? I say, this Norweigian is. Lise Myhre, grow a funny bone.
